The Mission Statement of Eureka Christian Church
 |
Eureka Christian Church is called to be:
~ Faithful to God,
~ Related to Christ and one another,
~ Ministers to our world.
|
Faithfulness to God is foundational to who we are. When we open the Bible, we understand sacred scripture as pointing us to a God who is active in our lives and in the world. It is God who we worship and glorify each Sunday in our worship services. This God is a God of love who reaches down and touches all of us, including the least of the world’s children.
A relationship with Jesus Christ and one another walk hand in hand. It is the historical Jesus who walks with us in our human condition. It is the living Christ whose presence is with us and who unites us one with another. Through Jesus Christ we receive God’s grace (God’s unmerited love) that sets us free to be loving disciples in our community and the world.
We are ministers to our world wherever we live, and move, and have our being. We are a church that believes all Christians have been given gifts for ministry. All who are baptized are called to share good news from our door steps to the end of the earth. Clergy and Laity work side by side, beginning at the Table of the Lord on Sunday mornings…a Communion Table that is open to all who wish to partake of the bread and the wine.
